    WILTON WIND ENERGY CENTER

This project is no longer available.

This is a wind farm in North Dakota, U.S.  that currently generates Big Tree Climate Fund’s renewable energy certificates (RECs).  It came online in 2006 and boasts 33 turbines that have a total generating capacity of 49.5 megawatts (enough electricity to power 15,000 homes).  Electricity from this wind farm enters the grid in North Dakota as generic electricity allowing the ‘green’ attributes of this renewable energy to be sold to Big Tree and passed on to our customers so that they can support renewable energy when they use electricity.  For more info about RECs and buying renewable energy, follow this link: What is a REC.
